Students and staff in the Arlington Heights School District 25 are going “Green” with
energy and environment conservation action and education. Each school
has a Green Team to coordinate expanded waste reduction and recycling
efforts. Students are learning the value of turning off lights and
power consuming appliances and equipment when those items are not in
use. Value measured not only in dollars, but also in the benefits of
the reduction of hazardous chemical emissions. Alternative fuels and
power generation are being studied and put into actual use, as solar
panels are installed at both middle schools. It’s
exciting and rewarding and all parents and residents are encouraged
to Go Green with us!
