What is ABC/25?

ABC/25 Foundation, incorporated in 1991, is a not-for-profit organization created to provide funds for educational enhancement in Arlington Heights School District 25. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors. Members include parents, educators, and the business community. All of these people serve voluntarily. The Foundation's projects are financed through member contributions and various fund-raising activities. The Directors share the commitment to equitably distribute these financial resources within the school district.

Why is ABC/25 needed?

The need for quality education is ever present, yet state and local funding is becoming more difficult to secure. ABC/25 supports creative projects and programs which would be unavailable under current School District 25 budget constraints . . . without adding to the tax burden. ABC/25 operates independently from the school district. However, our success depends upon working cooperatively with District 25 Administration, the Board of Education, and PTA. Together our goal is to provide a better education for the children - by partnering for innovation and excellence in public education.

Where are the funds spent?

Each year the generosity of our members and those who support the Foundation's activities has allowed us to meet our goals and objectives. We continue to strive to make a difference between a good and an excellent education.

The Foundation has provided funding in excess of $600,000 in these key areas:

Library/Learning Center Automation--Each school has been equipped with a computerized card catalog system.
Teacher Grant Program--These grants allow teachers to offer enhanced learning experiences.
Updated Sound Systems for each school--State-of-the-art equipment allows schools to provide multi-media programs.
Technology Partnership with District 25--Hardware and wiring were provided for classroom connection to the Internet.

For every dollar donated, the funds are allocated as follows:

66.1¢ for school projects
27¢ for teacher grants
only 6.9¢ for operational expenses

ABC/25 Foundation . . . serving all the schools in District 25: Dryden, Greenbrier, Ivy Hill, Olive-Mary Stitt, Patton, Westgate, and Windsor Elementary Schools and South and Thomas Middle Schools.

You may drop off your contribution at any District 25 school or mail it to ABC/25. Please include the information requested in the donation form.
