Welcome to Dryden School! The staff, students, parents and I believe that Dryden is a very special place. We strive to create a school climate in which children, teachers and parents find a sense of personal worth, experience the warmth of fellowship and are inspired to view learning as a life-long process.

The Dryden staff members are dedicated, caring professionals who are committed to children and the educational process. We believe in cooperative teamwork, drawing on each other’s individual strengths and special talents to provide a comprehensive educational experience for the students. We strive to help each child develop into an educated, well-adjusted and productive human being.

We are fortunate to have an active parent community that supports the children in our school. These active parents provide literacy book clubs, art appreciation, ecology club and a wide variety of student and classroom support. With our parent volunteers we are also able to provide the Dryden Echo (our student newspaper), Science Olympiad and Character Counts!sm as well as family social events including our roller skating party, ice cream social and fun night. Our community partners include Junior Achievement, programs with the police and fire departments and the Arlington Heights Public Library. As you can see, we are a community school.

School/home communication is a critical component to school success. Each family receives a copy of the Arlington Heights District 25 Elementary School Handbook. Information in that handbook is important District and school information. Other resources: our monthly PTA Dryden Dateline, Community Connections, the District newsletter sent to residents of the community, Parent Connections, a newsletter written for parents, the District 25 web site (www.ahsd25.k12.il.us) and our cable access channels (Comcast 15, WOW 17), also provide important information about the goals and procedures of District 25.

We believe in a continuous process of communication between school and home. In addition to the above resources, we utilize newsletters, Friday Backpack mail, progress reports, Parent/Teacher conferences, telephone calls, voice mail, email, parent information nights and Dryden activities to enhance the communication process.

The staff and I are excited about working with our 417 students and have many engaging activities planned for them. If you need any additional information about our school, please feel free to contact us by phone or email message. Dryden is proud to support our District 25 mission – superior education for a lifetime of learning!
