Office of the Superintendent

Welcome to Arlington Heights School District 25. The district serves approximately 5,000 students in nine schools by providing an enriching, comprehensive education for kindergarten through eighth grade students. Students in AHSD25, upon completion of eighth grade, attend high school in Township High School District 214.
Our students have many opportunities to grow and learn in a nurturing and invigorating environment. They are guided and encouraged by motivated, caring, well-prepared teachers, specialists and administrators who believe in continuous learning for themselves and their students. Students are provided a full array of studies in reading, math, science, social studies, language arts, writing, music, art, physical education, world languages and many extracurricular activities. Vision 2020, which was adopted by the Board of Education in 2006, and the WIRED framework serve to shape the direction of our efforts. Daily experiences for all of our school students include World focus, Integrated learning, Reflection, Engaged learners, and Discovery. The Department of Student Learning has helped bring dynamic and vibrant instructional tools to each classroom so that students will have every opportunity to expand their horizons, become global citizens, incorporate technological literacy in their daily activities, and embrace the practice of reflection and inquiry as they develop their critical thinking capacities as well as their creativity.
The school district is pleased to report high achievement on the ISAT’s (Illinois Standards Achievement Test) and continuous growth as measured on MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) tests. These measures of student achievement are indicators of student progress, but certainly are not the only measures used to monitor progress of student growth. We continue to seek ways to provide challenging, appropriately rigorous, and growth evoking learning experiences for every child.
The district and its schools have been recognized in several ways that demonstrate a commitment to excellence, including:

You will find a very active and interested parent community at each school. The Parent Teacher Association at each building supports the work of our schools with various activities and events, as well as publishing newsletters in partnership with the principal to help keep parents informed. Parents have also formed a foundation to provide financial support for schools and scholarships for students. ABC25 Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization designed to foster innovation, creativity and excellence for the children in District 25.
We hope you will enjoy learning more about Arlington Heights School District 25 and each of its schools. I encourage you to spend some time exploring the district and school websites. You will also be able to learn more about the professional growth opportunities available to our teachers and the many student activities by watching the district’s educational cable channel on Comcast 15 and Wowway 17.
