Program
Philosophy
District 25 is committed to providing a
range of educational programs that meet the different
learning needs of all of our students. Children who exhibit
exceptionally strong intellectual abilities and demonstrate
the potential for performing significantly beyond the
standard curriculum may be identified for this program. The
District 25 Gifted Program will support these students in
maximizing their potential and translating potential into
performance. The gifted program will provide:
• a range of services to address different
degrees of learning needs
• instructional strategies that allow for
variation in content, product, process, or pace
• opportunities for gifted students to work
with other children who have similar cognitive abilities
• teachers with specialized skills in
gifted education, including verification by the State of
Illinois
• ongoing opportunities for all teachers to
refine their skills in meeting the needs of gifted students
