The Food & Nutrition Services Department does make menu modifications as necessary when there are product shortages. Menu updates will be made on My School Menus.

Modifications Request for Food Allergies or Intolerances

If your child has modified dietary needs due to severe food allergies or another chronic condition that restricts your child's diet, please visit our Health Services webpage and complete the Annual Physical Statement Requiring a Menu Modification. Completed forms can be sent directly to Jana Gach, MPH, RDN at jgach@sd25.org. Monthly pre-orders are required for modified menus.

Modifications Request for Dietary Restrictions

AHSD25 complies with Public Act 102-0761, in which school districts operating the National School Lunch Programs are required to offer a plant-based meal option upon request. We currently have vegetarian menu items available daily at all our AHSD25 schools. You can view the vegetarian items by using the dietary preference filter option on My School Menus.

• At South & Thomas Middle Schools, we have plant-based or vegetarian hot lunch choices daily. There is no pre-order required.
• At Dryden, Greenbrier, Ivy Hill, Olive, Patton, Westgate & Windsor, we have some hot menu entree's that are vegetarian and some that are not. We do offer a vegetarian and plant-based cold lunch option daily. If you would like to request a hot vegetarian lunch item for your student, a monthly pre-order will be required for this specialized menu. In March 2025, the Faith by Plate Act, also known as the Kosher Halal Food Bill, was passed.  Schools are not required to implement the law at this time, as the state has not appropriated any funding or sourced products that meet Kosher or Halal certifications via a master state contact.  AHSD25 Food & Nutrition Services is committed to providing equitable meal access to all of our students.  As of December 1, 2025, we provide a Halal-certified food option at South & Thomas. Please note that the AHSD25 kitchens are not Halal certified.
