General Kindergarten Information:
Kindergartners starting in 2018-2019 must be 5 years old by September 1st, 2018 to attend Kindergarten in the 2018-19 school year.
* The Kindergarten program in Arlington Heights School District 25 is a half-day program (AM & PM half-day sessions) held five days a week at all elementary schools.
* All students attending a District 25 school must live within the AHSD 25 boundaries. How Do I Register my Kindergartner for the 2018-19 School Year?
Kindergarten Registration is a five-step process. Please know that ALL FIVE STEPS are required before your child is fully registered with Arlington Heights School District 25.
Step 1 (Pre-Registration): Click the following link to complete and submit the online form to request a Kindergarten Registration packet: Pre-Registration Form
Step 2: Beginning the week of January 8th, 2018, a packet of registration forms will be mailed to your home address provided during Step 1. Please complete all required forms and collect all requested supporting documentation. Please note that you will need to provide an original official birth certificate to your school (photocopies are not acceptable). A copy of the birth certificate will be taken and the original will be returned to you. An official original copy of the birth certificate may be obtained from the county seat of the area in which the child was born.
Click here for information from the Cook County Clerk's office for requesting a birth certificate for children born in Chicago and suburban Cook County.
Step 3: Attend your school's Kindergarten Packet Dropoff event on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. All seven D25 elementary schools will be holding this event on that day during the hours of 9:30 - 11:30 am and 4:00 - 6:45 pm. You are welcome to drop off your registration forms at the elementary school where your child will attend Kindergarten during these hours. For additional questions regarding your school's Kindergarten Packet Dropoff, please contact the school's main office.
Step 4 (Registration): On May 1st, 2018, the annual district-wide online registration will go live for all new and returning AHSD 25 families who are registering students for the 2018-2019 school year. During the week of April 23rd, 2018 you will receive information, via the email address you provided in Step 1, detailing how to complete the online registration process. Please note, this is an additional online registration process to what was completed in Step 1 -- ALL STUDENTS must complete this online registration in order to be enrolled.
Step 5 (Proof of Residency): All families will complete an Annual Verification of Residency Form and provide three (3) acceptable documents to verify that they live within the district boundaries, at the address provided during registration. Families will be notified of the process and timeline for submitting proof of residency later this spring.
