It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving Break is upon us. We have so much to be grateful for at Greenbrier! We have wonderful students, great parents, fantastic teachers and a community that works together for our students. Thank you for all that you do to support Greenbrier! I hope that you get to enjoy time with your family and friends. I am encouraging our staff to do the same. They have put in many extra hours this trimester getting the new report cards ready for today. I have asked them to unplug and recharge. They will be putting away messages on their email accounts. They will respond to any issues or concerns when they return on Monday, November 26th. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    Report Cards

Report cards were emailed home today. If you did not receive your child's report card, please contact Amanda Spense at aspence@sd25.org or 847-398-4272. She will work with our District office to get it to you.

    Election Day

Tuesday, November 6th is Election Day in Illinois. Once again, Greenbrier will be a polling place. Voters will be in the front foyer. Students will be routed around the area, and we will have a district employee with the voters while school is in session. The doors to the Commons and hallway in the front foyer will be locked.  Students will also be staying inside for recess due to the voters' presence around the building. CAP Parents will be instructed to use another door on this day.

    Halloween

We would like Halloween to be fun for all and require costumes that portray non-violent characters.  Please remember that we are an early childhood through fifth grade elementary school.  Costumes that may be appropriate for older children or adults may frighten younger children.  We are requesting your cooperation in selecting school appropriate costumes that avoid violence, sharp objects, weapons, “squirting or dripping” blood, gore, etc.    Please consider selecting a costume that reflects an upbeat, positive theme. We want to model positive examples of caring, respect and responsibility. In the interest of safety, please be sure your child is able to walk and sit comfortably in his/her costume and is able to see where he/she is walking (masks sometimes obstruct a child's view).
