Arlington Heights, IL – Over 60 District 25 students launched to new heights on Thursday, May 12, as Patton Elementary School’s Rocket Lab put on their yearly rocket launch for the community.

Five years ago, one Patton student expressed interest in rockets and the launching of rockets, thus, the Patton Rocket Lab was born. With help from her fellow teachers John Dolniak and Tim Morkert, fourth grade teacher Carrie Cioni leads the effort each year. Fourth and fifth grade students spend one hour at lunch learning about rockets and the science of building rockets. Once the permission slips are signed, it’s three, two, one, lift off!

It was estimated that over 100 people attended the rocket launch.
