  • DR. BEIN UPDATES

    Good Afternoon District 25 Families,

While no recommendations are being put forth at this time, the Transition Advisory Committee met this past Tuesday (September 29) and worked through the following topics:

    1. The TAC worked to identify metrics that they would recommend District 25 to consider when deciding to make the transition to Step 4 | All Students In-Person Learning.

The TAC is utilizing the following sources to help compile the metrics for recommendation:
CDC Indicators & Thresholds for risk of COVID-19 in Schools
      NIPHC Return to School Metrics
Harvard Guidance & Risk Level Metrics

Because all of these organizations point towards a very low metric of <7 new cases of COVID per 100,000 population per week (with a 14 day view of the data), the group asked to review additional medical resources outside of the 3 linked above at the next meeting (Tuesday, October 6).

This group is working hard and putting tremendous thought into identifying metrics that may not be as restrictive as those above and would still allow for a safe and impactful return to full in-person learning as soon as possible. For example, the TAC discussed reviewing District 25 data about the number of COVID19 cases among students and staff and the number of quarantined students and staff once we have implemented the Step 3 | Hybrid Learning Model. The thought is that if we aren't seeing a negative impact from Hybrid, then they could consider recommending moving to full in-person even if the county and citywide data remains the same as it is today.

    2. District 25 is in the process of developing a dashboard containing the District data referred to above that will be made available to the community on the District website. This data collected as we experience our hybrid model will help to determine next steps towards full in-person learning.

I want to acknowledge and thank the Committee members for their attention to detail and dedication to our students, staff, and community.

    Sincerely,

    Dr. Lori Bein, Ed.D.

  • TECHNOLOGY & DEVICE RESOURCES
