TMS community raises thousands for families in need

December 19, 2017

Arlington Heights, IL - Each year, the Thomas Middle School Student Council works with a local organization to adopt six local families that are in need this holiday season.

The TMS Student Council promotes the fundraising efforts using the morning announcements and posters/flyers posted around school. The goal is to raise a minimum of  $1,000 per family which is then used to purchase gifts for everyone in all six families.

Often donations exceed expectations. Any extra is then used to support other families in the TMS community.

Last Friday, December 15, the TMS Student Council and many more student volunteers, stayed after school to help wrap all of the gifts that were purchased with the donations. It was estimated that around 60 students volunteered their time to help wrap.
