Election Day
On Election Day, Tuesday, April 1, 2025, Greenbrier Elementary School will be used as a polling place all day. We have the following procedures in place to ensure the safety of our students and staff:
-
The polling place for our school is our foyer.
-
Voters will only be allowed to enter through door 1 by the office.
-
Any door connecting our foyer to our school building will be locked.
-
We will hire a full-time building attendant to sit in the area.
-
A District Administrator will be on site that day.
- CAP parents will enter using door 12.
- EC students that use the front entrance will also use door 12 for arrival and dismissal for that day only.
- Walkers will using door 12 for dismissal.
- Late students should still use door 1 by the office.
-
All grades will have indoor recess.
We take the safety and security of our students and staff very seriously. And while these procedures will cause some disruption to our typical day, we are confident that students will continue to have a safe and engaging day of learning.

With warmer weather here, children are spending more time playing outside and participating in sports and other activities.
If your child has been seen by a doctor and is returning to school with activity restrictions, please SEND the note to the school nurse and ensure the note includes the following:
-
Physical Education “Gym” Restrictions: Any Physical Education restrictions must also address recess for students in grades K-5.
-
Timeframe for Restrictions: The note must specify the DATE that your child may resume regular activities (e.g., "may return to regular activities on DATE" or "may return in one week").
If the note states "student can resume activities once medically cleared," an additional note will be required to confirm when restrictions are lifted.
For any concussion diagnosis, the doctor must provide clear parameters including restrictions and timeline to return to activities.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us support your child's health and well-being.

Posted by Donna Bingaman on 2/28/2025RamadanRamadan is a month of reflection and fasting observed by some families in our school community. We want to ensure that those students feel comfortable and supported. Understanding that their fasts last from sunrise to sunset, we offer an alternate space for students to spend their lunchtime away from the Commons, where lunch is held.If your child observes the fast for Ramadan and prefers to utilize this alternate space, please let Mrs. Bingaman know. This will help us to make the necessary arrangements and ensure a peaceful and accommodating environment for all students during this time.We appreciate your partnership and look forward to making this period as comfortable as possible for those observing Ramadan. Our amazing yearbook committee chairs are hard at work on this year's yearbook, and we need more photos to make it the best it can be. Please share any NEW photos (please do not re-upload ones you've already shared) using the links below.
Please note the guidelines below and upload your best shots by ASAP. Thank you!
Guidelines
1) It is very rare that we can use an individual photo in the yearbook because we want to include as many kids as possible. Please upload group shots instead.
2) Please don't upload duplicates or videos! Uploading multiple versions of the same photo or a video slows down the system and creates more work for our yearbook committee.
3) All kids must go to Greenbrier. At Back to School Bash, for example, we had a lot of middle school alumni present, which is amazing, but they shouldn't be featured in the yearbook.

Valentine's Day
Valentine's parties are scheduled in elementary classrooms for February 13. Just like our Halloween parties, we will not serve or use food in any crafts or games. Instead, we will focus on games and activities. Room reps should double-check with their classroom teachers to verify the set-up and start time. If your child passes out Valentine's cards to other students, the cards cannot have any candy or food attached. Non-edible trinkets such as pencils, erasers, stickers, etc., are great alternatives. Goodie bags filled with trinkets or candy are not allowed. We greatly appreciate our room reps and volunteers who organize and provide fun Valentine's experiences for our students.

The week of February 3rd will be Digital Citizenship Week in District 25. Each day, the morning announcements will focus on a specific digital citizenship topic to guide students to be safe, responsible, and respectful online. Each day will have a dress-up theme that reminds everyone of the focus of the day. Get dressed up and learn about the best ways to be kind, safe, and responsible online!
Dear Greenbrier Elementary School Families,
We’re almost there - just a few more students to go before we reach our goal. There’s still time to make a difference. Take action today! Your family can become lifesavers by learning Hands-Only CPR, how to recognize the warning signs of a stroke, understanding how the heart works, and by raising awareness and funds to help those with special hearts. Together we can create healthier futures!
Here’s how you can get involved and make a life-saving difference:
- Download the FREE AHA Schools App for Apple or Android and click on “Register Now” then scroll down to join your school's team.
-
- Next, click on “send a text today” to easily reach friends & family!
- OR click HERE. and choose “Sign Up” to get started.
We have some BONUS incentives for our students this year:
Thank you for being an integral part of the Kids Heart Challenge, supporting our school and the American Heart Association. Your commitment and involvement truly make a difference!
