District 25 Board of Education
The seven members of the District 25 Board of Education are elected at large in public elections for four-year terms. Elections are held every two years, in odd-numbered years, with four seats open one election year and three the next election year. Board members serve on a volunteer basis, without pay, and do not maintain offices in District buildings.
The Board of Education is responsible for hiring the Superintendent, authorizing the appointment of all other staff members, authorizing curriculum development, levying tax monies and budgeting for both educational programs and operating expenses, and setting District policy. The Board President will respond to questions as soon as possible on behalf of the Board of Education.

COVID-19 BOARD OF EDUCATION DETAILS
As regulations and recommendations from the CDC and Governor's Office continue to change, we will continue to adapt to how all Board meetings will function. For example, that might include changes to the location, changes to the allowed attendance number, a change in how the meeting is held (live/in-person or via Zoom), etc. Please note that as dates and details change, we will do our best to inform the public on social media, via email, and post changes on our website.
As of September 2021, all Board of Education meetings are planned to be held in person, at the Dunton Administration Building. Masks are required to enter. The District is in a mask recommended environment. Please note that the regular board meeting typically begins at 7:00. If there is a closed session portion, that time is listed on each individual agenda which can be viewed on our BoardDocs program.
Pursuant to the mask mandate instituted by the Governor of the State of Illinois, everyone attending the Board of Education meeting will be required to properly wear a mask while inside the building. (Should you not have a mask, one will be provided for you.) The District is in a mask recommended environment. For those who cannot attend in person, livestream will be available via the link found on the BoardAgenda page of our site: www.sd25.org/BoardAgenda.
The best spot to stay most up to date on the Board information is on our Board Agenda page (www.sd25.org/BoardAgenda). There you will be able to access the board agendas to the meeting as well as get a quick look at the upcoming meeting information.
LIVESTREAM THE MEETING
The links to livestream the meetings will be posted on the Board Agenda page (www.sd25.org/BoardAgenda) the week of the meeting.
View the current board calendar by clicking the "Meeting Dates" option (drop down for mobile), above.

Board members should not be expected to discuss public comment topics presented at this time.
At the April 21, 2022 Board of Education meeting, the Board decided to no longer offer the submission of public comment via a google form. The Board can be reached outside of Board Meeting hours by emailing boardfeedback@sd25.org.
