AHSD 25 Communications Department

  • MISSION

We tell the everyday story of our District by opening the window to the classroom from a place of vulnerable presence and personal connection in order to best engage our community, and create community using all viable communication tools, tactics and strategies.

We also create the space needed for our staff and teachers to fearlessly communicate, by promoting vulnerability and authenticity as the key to communication, which leads to connection.

The Communications Guide below was originally created and finished in 2016 and was updated significantly in June of 2020 and then again in June of 2021. It is living, breathing document that is reviewed annually and updated. It is the essense of what we do here in the Department of Communications.

Visit our Connect Here section of our website to see all of our communications as they are archived there.

    About Me:

I joined the District 25 team on July 1st, 2015 after working for a local radio station as a producer and anchor for seven years. District 25 is an incredible district that has amazing students, parents, teachers, staff, administrators, board members and is part of a pride-filled and flourishing community. My goal is to help bring all of that excitement to our audience through stories, videos, newsletters, social media and more.

I grew up in the neighboring village of Hoffman Estates and attended the University of Illinois.

    About Me:

I joined the District 25 Communications team on July 6, 2021 after I graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a Multimedia Journalism degree. I’ve always had a strong passion for storytelling and as an immigrant from Syria, I appreciate and hold a great respect for teachers and schools as a whole. I’m so incredibly lucky to work at a school district with such a strong sense of community and love highlighting that on our social media platforms.
